Nine years ago Mikaela was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD) and Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis (CHF). In 2004, she received four blood transfusions after losing half of her blood volume through ruptured esophogeal varices. |

Doctors in her home town of Burlington, Vermont, referred her to the transplant team at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Evaluated and monitored as her organs deteriorated, Mikaela is now in urgent need of a life-saving liver and kidney transplant. |

Transplant costs often exceed $500,000. Mikaela's family and friends have teamed up with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA), a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding fund-raising for tranplant patients, to help. We are working to raise $150,000.
